 What is NILE II?

The Egyptian NGO Support Center (ENGOSC) has implemented the ‘New Initiative for Leadership in Egypt’ (NILE II),funded by USAID with the support from two other U.S. organizations; the South-East Consortium for International Development (SECID) and the Vital Voices Global Partnership (VV).

NILE II serves as a bridge between national businesses and NGOs to collaborate in addressing socio-economic challenges and priority issues of local communities through:

  • Building leadership skills within different sectors (NGOs, the government, the private Sector).
  • Facilitating and enabling the dialogue between stakeholders.
  • Supporting community development.
  • Achieving social and economic development and sustainable growth with local resources.
  • NILE II operates in eight governates across Egypt: Cairo, Alexandria, Port-Said, Ismailia, Dakahilia, Aswan, Assiut and Sohag.
